說明/ 體長可達13 公分，含尾可達 40 公分。廣泛分布於嘉義（含）以南的低海拔地區。背部褐色，腹部灰白色。身體兩側各有一條黑色寬帶由眼前延伸至尾基部，背上則有數條黑色不連續的縱帶，背部每一鱗片上有 2–3 條微凸起稜脊。卵生，每次產卵 8–12顆，經常產卵於落葉堆中。肉食性，以昆蟲和其他小型無脊椎動物為食。日行性，本校圖書館與通識中心前階梯與花台上常可以觀察到。很怕人，攀爬力強，常在灌木叢，如上圖粉葉金花枝葉中活動。（陸維元攝）
Its body length can reach 13 cm, and with the tail 40cm. It is widely distributed across the low altitude areas of southern Taiwan. Its back is mostly brown; its belly is greyish-white. There is a black wide band stretching from its eyes to the base of its tail on each side of its body. The back has several discontinuous black vertical stripes, and the scales on its dorsum have two to three weak keels. Oviparous, it lays eight to twelve eggs in a clutch, often among fallen leaves. Carnivorous, it feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates. Diurnal, it can be seen on the stairs leading up to the Library and the Center for General Education on campus.
