說明/ 普遍留鳥及冬候鳥，全長約35–40 公分，雌鳥背部暗褐色，雄鳥則為藍黑色，以其利於涉水之長腳而得名，又稱黑翅長腳鷸。腿和趾淺紅色，飛行時拖於尾後。平常於魚塭、水田與沼澤地區棲息覓食，常於岸邊活動。動作緩慢優雅，主要捕食水生昆蟲、蝌蚪、小魚與小蝦等。鳴叫聲類似「kek–kek–kek–」略微刺耳之高音。高蹺原本為候鳥，近年來已逐漸有在臺灣西部沿海區域繁殖的現象。（彭楨儒攝）
A common resident bird and winter migrant, 35-40 cm in length. Females’ backs are dark-brown, males’bluish-black. Known for its long legs which are convenient for wading, it is also known as the Blackwinged Long-legged Stilt. Its legs and toes are light pink, which are dragged behind its body during flight. It is active around fish ponds, paddy fields, marshes, and shores. It moves elegantly and mainly feeds on aquatic insects, tadpoles, fish and shrimp. It makes a “kek-kek-kek” grating call.
