說明/ 展翅約3 公分，雄蝶翅背面為明亮的水青色，雌蝶黑褐色，翅腹面為灰褐色有褐色帶狀斑紋，斑紋鑲白邊。翅端具橙色的擬眼紋，誘使掠食者攻擊非致命點藉此保命。本種又稱東陞蘇鐵小灰蝶，普遍分布於全島平地至低海拔山區，為常見種。因為幼蟲只吃蘇鐵幼葉，過去只在台東蘇鐵自然保留區能看到，是學者眼中的稀有蝴蝶。但隨著近年來園藝界引入外來種蘇鐵大量種植，使得蘇鐵小灰蝶族群擴張，目前已分布至臺灣各地。（黃予恩攝）

The wingspan is about 3 cm. The back of the male's wings is bright blue, while the back of the female’s is blackish-brown. The underside of the wings is greyish-brown with brown markings surrounded by white margins. The wings have orange eyespots near the edge to lure predators' attack away from important body parts. It is commonly distributed across the plains and low altitude mountains of Taiwan. As the larvae only feed on the tender shoots of Sago Palms, it used to be seen only in Taitung Cycas Nature Reserve and was deemed a rare species among scholars. However, as horticultural businesses began introducing exotic species of Sago Palms into the island, the population of Cycad Blues had increased tremendously over the years and spread to all corners of Taiwan.
