說明/ 體長4.8–5.3 公分，複眼墨綠色，胸部淡綠色，胸側約有6 條不規則黑色條紋，腹部黑色，夾雜3–4 枚大白斑，第1–3 節膨大呈球狀，第3 節後變細，第7–10 節處略微脹大呈黑色，肛附器呈白色。翅透明，翅痣黃褐色。領域性極強，經常來回飛行驅趕、追逐侵犯其領域的其他蜻蜓。全年可見，廣泛分布在低海拔地區，常見於沼澤或水塘附近。本校則可於寧靜湖上游、圖書館前與螢火蟲復育區觀察到其蹤跡。（陳家駒攝）
It is about 4.8-5.3 cm in length. The compound eyes are dark green. The thorax is greenish with about six irregular black stripes; the abdomen is black with three to four white markings. The first to the third segments of its abdomen are swollen like a ball, followed by regular thin segments. The seventh to the tenth segments are slightly swollen and are black in color. The anal appendage is white. The wings are transparent with yellowish-brown stigmas. It is highly territorial, often flying back and forth to drive out other dragonflies and defend its own territory. It can be seen throughout the year, widely distributed across low altitude areas and is often seen around marshes or lakes.
