說明/ 不普遍留鳥，全長約31–37 公分，翼展77–92 公分。成鳥全身大致為黑、白、灰三色，背部灰而腹部白。飛羽前端黑色，腳橙黃色。眼睛虹膜為鮮紅色，周圍黑色好似眼罩。黑翅鳶具有優異的飛行能力，經常於清晨或黃昏於空中定點振翅，俯瞰地面尋找獵物，主要以鼠類、蜥蜴、昆蟲或小型鳥類為食。近年來開始出現於本校校園附近的旱田與雜木林，且數量有逐漸增加的趨勢。繁殖期4 到8 月期間，偶而會發出間歇尖銳哨音。（陸維元攝）

An uncommon resident bird, 31-37 cm in length, with a wingspan of 77-92 cm. The adults have white, grey and black plumage, with grey backs and white bellies. The front part of the wing is black, and the legs are orange-yellow. Its irises are red, surrounded by black areas like a mask. It has great flying skills, often searching for its prey at dawn or dusk from the air. It feeds mainly on rodents, lizards, insects or small birds. In recent years, it has started appearing in the dry fields and mixed forests near the campus, with seemingly increasing numbers.
