說明/ 雄蛙體長2–3 公分,雌蛙4–5 公分,臺灣特有種。頭長略等於頭寬,吻端尖。鼓膜及顳褶不明顯,皮膚粗糙帶有許多顆粒性小突起。背部帶有略明顯的X 或H 型的深色斑,背部顏色多為深褐色,會因所在環境而有所不同。雄蛙有單一咽下外鳴囊,體型較雌蛙小很多。面天樹蛙的叫聲是較為連續而急促的「逼、逼、逼、」聲。棲息於中低海拔的樹林及果園中,本校寧靜湖上游與螢火蟲復育區常見。(陸維元攝
Males 2-3 cm in length, females 4-5 cm, it is an endemic species of Taiwan. The head length is roughly about the head width. The snout is short and pointed. The tympanum and temporal fold are not easily visible. There are many small bumps on the rough skin. The back is marked with a distinct X or H-shaped dark marking, and is usually dark brown in color which changes according to the environment. Males have a single subgular external vocal sac, and are much smaller than females. It makes continuous and rapid “bi-bi-bi” calls, inhabiting low and medium elevation forests and orchards.
