Faculty House Trail (Zone 12)

學人宿舍步道景點略指由明志亭後方上坡開始，經真善美幼兒園，到宿舍區出口為止的步 道兩側範圍。步道東側邊坡林相原始，為鳳頭蒼鷹棲息與繁殖區域，遊客走訪至此可仔細 觀察樹梢高處是否有雙銳利的鷹眼隱身其間，伺機捕食小型鳥類。此外，樹叢與周遭林地間歇有哺乳動物如赤腹松鼠、鼬獾與野兔出沒。幼兒園西側山林，是小啄木、紅尾伯勞與 紅嘴黑鵯等鳥類棲息地，也是觀賞蝴蝶的好地方。（陸維元攝）

This zone includes the area on both sides of the faculty house trail which begins on the slope behind the Aspiration Gazebo, passes through Chen Shan Mei Kindergarten, and ends near the exit of the dorm area. To the eastern side of the trail is an old-growth forest inhabited by Crested Goshawks. Tourists visiting the forest can look up in the treetops for signs of Crested Goshawks that use their sharp vision to prey on small birds. In addition, the nearby bushes are frequented by mammals such as Red-bellied Tree Squirrels, Chinese Ferret-badgers, and Formosan Hares. The woods to the western side of the kindergarten are home to birds like Brown Shrikes and Black Bulbuls. They are also ideal places for observing butterflies. (Photo by Lu Wei-yuan)
