說明/ 普遍留鳥，臺灣特有亞種，全長約25–36 公分，翼展51–70 公分。約與鴿子大小相當的小型猛禽，性格非常兇悍，會主動攻擊其他猛禽，所以又有「鷹仔虎」之俗稱，以捕食鳥類、野鼠、昆蟲與蝙蝠為主。松雀鷹與鳳頭蒼鷹是很容易混淆的兩種猛禽，體型上松雀鷹瘦小許多，嘴喙比例較小，腿部與腳趾較細長，本校兩種都有分布。常佇立於視野良好且隱密的樹枝上，等待獵物出現時即快速俯衝下來襲擊。（陸維元攝）
A common resident bird, endemic subspecies of Taiwan, 25-36 cm in length, wingspan 51-70 cm. It is a bird of prey the size of a pigeon with a very aggressive nature and will attack other birds of prey, for which it is named “Tiger Hawk” in Taiwanese Hokkien, preying mainly on birds, rats, insects, and bats. It is often confused with the Crested Goshawk, another bird of prey. Besras are smaller in size, with smaller beaks and thinner, longer legs and toes. Both hawks could be seen on campus.
