說明/ 常綠灌木，全株高1–2公尺，掌狀複葉，枝葉光亮翠綠。秋季開白色小花，果實漿果，呈小球形，成熟橙黃色。生命力強，土壤適應性佳，耐修剪、耐旱與耐蔭，極適合牆角栽植及室內盆栽，綠化效果良好。鵝掌藤為原生植物，分布於全島平地、丘陵至海拔1800公尺之岩壁上。本校共栽有11000餘株，分別植於行政大樓、社科院停車場、寧靜湖四周、共教大樓四周、文學院中庭及周邊，以及學人宿舍區。（陸維元攝）

An evergreen shrub that can grow to 1-2 m tall with palmately compound leaves, which are emerald green in color. It produces small white flowers in autumn and small, round berries that turn bright orange when ripe. It is quite resilient, can adapt to a wide range of soils and tolerate pruning, drought, and shade, making it an ideal plant for corner and indoor greening. Native to Taiwan, it is commonly seen in plains, hills, and cliffs at the altitude up to 1800 m. There are more than 11000 Umbrella Trees on campus, distributed around the Administrative Building, College of Social Sciences parking lots, Tranquility Lake, Center for General Education, College of Humanities courtyard, and Faculty House.
