Upstream of Tranquility Lake (Zone 1)

中正大學寧靜湖上游銜接龍泉溪，環境主要為次生林地、混生竹林與零星分布果樹，少有人為干擾，為本校生態最豐富的區域，可在此遇到許多種類的生物。斑文鳥、灰頭鷦鶯常 在草叢間穿梭，靜下心來還能聽到山紅頭與小彎嘴畫眉悠揚的歌聲。黑冠麻鷺、夜鷺與紅 尾伯勞也是這裡的常客。此外，鄰近的水域可看到斑龜與多種青蛙，是觀察生態的絕佳地點。（陸維元攝）

The upstream area of Tranquility Lake contains a headwater tributary called the LongquanRiver and is mostly populated with secondary forests, mixed bamboo forests and a numberof fruit trees. The area is seldom frequented by visitors and is the most ecologically diverseamong the twelve ecological zones. Scaly-breasted Munias and the Yellow-bellied Priniaare found jumping around the bushes here, accompanied by the songs of Rufous-cappedBabblers and Taiwan Scimitar Babblers. Malaysian Night Herons, Black-crowned NightHerons, and Brown Shrikes are also commonly seen here. In addition, Chinese Stripe-neckedTurtles and a variety of frogs are also seen in nearby waters, making the area an excellentchoice for ecological observations. (Photo by Lu Wei-yuan)
